SegarKosan
ESP32 firmware plus backend and frontend for a connected service platform, built on PlatformIO.
2025IoT firmware & backendcompleted
- c++
- platformio
- esp32
- docker
- rest api
An end-to-end connected platform: device firmware, a backend API, and a frontend client — the kind of project where the interesting work is in the contract between the layers.
What it does
- Monitors air quality in student boarding rooms (kos-kosan) and reports it on a live dashboard: Odor Score (0–100), temperature, humidity, and CO₂.
- ESP32 firmware built with PlatformIO, holding sensors, networking, and a documented device
API surface (see
API.md) in one repo. - Credentials kept out of the tree via
secret.ini+ example template. - Backend with Docker image and Compose file for repeatable local and deployed runs.
- Dashboard updates within ~250 ms and runs 24/7.
Why it matters to me
This is the pattern I keep coming back to: firmware that exposes a clean interface, and a service layer that treats the device as just another client.
